Reserve your seat at Siloso Beach ↗Quick answer
Siloso Beach is on the west portion of Sentosa's southern coast. It is an artificial beach built with reclaimed sand, with dining and shopping outlets, resorts and attractions, and it is where the Wings of Time night show is staged against the open sea.
Where it lies
Siloso Beach lies on the west portion of the southern coast of Sentosa, the island off the southern coast of Singapore's main island. Sentosa's beaches are divided into three portions: Palawan Beach, Siloso Beach and Tanjong Beach. Siloso is the one on the west, nearest Fort Siloso, and it is the one where Wings of Time is staged. Beach Station on the Sentosa Express sits between Siloso and Palawan beaches, which is why the organiser's directions for the show use it.
An artificial beach
The beach is artificial, built with reclaimed sand. Lifeguards on the beach wear red and yellow uniforms, and the beach has hosted a long list of events and facilities. It lies on the west portion of Sentosa's southern coast, with dining and shopping outlets along it, so a visit can include a meal or a walk before the show.
What stands on it
Along the beach are dining and shopping outlets, the Rasa Sentosa Resort at the western end, the Siloso Beach Resort and the Costa Sands Resort Sentosa. The attractions include AJ Hackett Sentosa, Wavehouse, iFly Singapore and Wings of Time. Wikipedia describes it as a place for beach volleyball and other outdoor activities such as canoeing, skimboarding, mountain biking and rollerblading. That mix means the beach is busy in the day, and the show is one of the reasons it stays busy after dark.
The name and the western end
Wikipedia says the western end of Sentosa, where Fort Siloso now stands, was once called sarang rimau, which means tiger's den, but it says nobody has explained how the fort came to be so called. It does not explain the name Siloso itself. Fort Siloso is the only surviving coastal gun battery of Fortress Singapore. You can read the full story in the guide to a day on Sentosa.

Events on the sand
Past events on the beach have included a dance party, the annual ZoukOut, a New Year's Eve party and a beach volleyball tour event. These are reminders that the beach is a working public space: events and closures come and go, and the show's organiser, not this guide, is the place to confirm what is open on your night.
The beach and the show
Wings of Time is staged at Siloso Beach, with the sea as its backdrop and a giant water screen as its stage. The organiser describes the show as water, laser, fire and music, and the beach is where you walk out after it ends. The earlier show on the same beach, Songs of the Sea, appears in a photograph on this page. The beach has been a night-show setting for more than a decade. Beach Station, the southern terminus of the Sentosa Express, lies between Siloso and Palawan beaches, so the train and the show meet at the same stretch of coast.
Who this isn't for
This guide is not for visitors who want a quiet, natural beach: Siloso is an artificial, busy one with outlets and events. It is not a swimming guide: it gives no advice on water conditions, which change, and it does not describe lifeguard hours. If you want the show, book the Wings of Time seat; if you want the beach, go in daylight and check what is open.
